F1 in Schools
This scholastic competition involved creating a mock Formula 1 racing team. We found sponsors to fund us, designed our car's aerodynamic profile, manufactured plastic airfoils, and created branding, presentations, and displays, all to show off our team during showroom-styled competitions. Our team was very successful despite many of us never having any experience, and we were invited to compete at the world finals in Singapore. This was over a year commitment I made through my senior year in college and was a challenge to balance, but overall was a life-changing experience and gave me a chance to see the world of engineering up close and personal.
Designed and tested plastic airfoils using CAD software to achieve a competitive drag coefficient.
Fabricated and assembled parts using a 3D-Printer to lower the speed and costs of manufacturing.
Manufactured cars using a CNC machine cut from a standardized block of wood.
Received awards including "Best Engineered Car" and was selected to represent the USA in the world finals.
